I played "Netherlands" incessantly for a while in college. I also loved "Twin Sons of Different Mothers". I guess I missed that Fogelberg had died. Thanks Jeff.
Hi Nell. There was probably more coverage of Fogelberg around here. He wasn't here long but he was a freshman theater major when he started playing at the Red Herring coffeehouse down the street from where I work. Irving Azoff, an agent who also went to Univ. of Illinois (and who helped out another local act: REO Speedwagon), got to know him and invited him to California to start his career. Before he left, Fogelberg got himself kicked out of a frat because he painted the walls in a kind of MC Escher maze style. I wasn't a big fan but there're a couple of songs (esp. Longer) that send me back to IHS days after about two notes.
