Those kooky kidz

Read recently that Trent Reznor was the lead in several muscials (e.g. The Music Man) whilst at Mercer High School.

Comments:
Trent used to come over to our house when I lived in Mercer. My first husband, Hendley Hoge, started him on sax in the fourth grade, and he played in Hendley's bands all through high school. When he was in seventh grade, he was writing award-winning compositions for the senior high jazz band. Quite a kid!

Julianne, the picture of you serving chocolate chip cookies to a geeky Trent Reznor is worthy of a storyline by Tawni O'dell.

How was he in the muscials?

I noticed some of this on a little wikipedia journey I took recently, if you want more detail.

I'm not sure about the musicals. I don't remember Hendley mentioning the musicals at Mercer HS. Trent was already NIN when I met him. I will try to do some research and let you know!

Here's a little bit of trivia...if you've ever gone to a hunting camp or a lodge (the one that comes to mind is Lions Health Camp), the furnace/blowers that hang in the corners are almost always "Reznor Heaters." That is Trent's family. He spent a lot of time with his grandfather, who was recently retired from running the company when I was there.

PS Speaking of Tawni, I bought Coal Run and the new one, Sister Mine, because of your recent comments. I really enjoyed both of them...especially Sister Mine!
