MY kind of town!

I nearly wrecked the car as I drove down main street in St. Clairsville, Ohio recently. A banner stretched across the road proclaiming an honorable day for soup! All soup lovers in Tabishland should try to pencil this date in on your calendar. St. Clairsville is just across the Ohio River from Wheeling, W. Va., so you can get some gambling time in at the casino there as well.

It is most unfortunate that I am already committed to a college fair in Dayton, Ohio that day. I was not contacted early enough to be the Soup Day Master of Ceremonies.

Every American town should have a day to honor soup. Ask not what you can do for soup, but ask what soup has done for your country. It should be a day of celebration and remembrance; a National Soup Day. Chowders and stews and broths of all types can be the main course on National Soup Day.

Oh, the mind reels at the possibilities…..

OMG, that's hilarious. You know, I've always liked soup, but I've never seriously considered honoring soup. Until now. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Eric.

I had a pumkin sausage soup the other day in celebration of Halloween; it was yummy
