Pre-Tabish Thespian efforts

Sort of like picking out the future stars from a soap opera or "Dazed and Confused".

Comments:
For some reason, we look young in the high school pictures, but here, a scant three years earlier, we look like tiny babies. Just a world of difference. *sigh*, so innocent, too.

Being in our mid-40's is very weird, isn't it?

Sometimes I don't remember at all what it was to be young, to be innocent. Sometimes my past seems like an old home video of someone else.

I have a picture in my mind's eye of buying candy at McCrory's, walking with my sister Robin to the Manos Theater to see Bedknobs and Broomsticks for the third time and playing Catcher and Center Field for McCreary Tire and Rubber (and looking forward to playing Delany Chevrolet because I would get to see my buddy Dave Putt.

But at the same time, it seems like a different planet completely- like it wasn't me and it wasn't Indiana and no one was a kid ever- except on TV.

Look at the mugshots of the Jr High teachers. We are decades older than most of them when that photo was taken, but I can look at it now and the all still seem older and always have and probably always will.

Explain that optical illusion to me.

Boz, however, is timeless in her maturity and coolness.

Same thing with upperclassmen- if they are one year older than me, they still look older than me- even at 18.

Perhaps if you had joined Bottle Collectors Club Ian, you wouldn't feel this angst.

But seriously... To my kids, I am ancient; prehistoric even. And I still feel like a kid inside. I'm not a teenager (anymore thank God) but I can remember being one, and that really only seems like yesterday. The days and years go by in a heartbeat. We spent so much time thinking about what it would be like to be grown up, planning, dreaming. And somewhere along the line it happened. And there does seem to be a chasm between "Then" and "Now".

I have a button that says, "Inside every adult is a teenager wondering what happened."

Man I need a button like that.

I have a button that says
"Vote for Tim to be Henry Higgens"

I'm missing a button from my favorite shirt
