Anyone Remember Her?

I remember Maria. We were good friends. The last time I saw her was when she performed at IUP late in 1994. (I remember because I was very pregnant at the time.) She was very much the same as I remembered her from high school.
Maria left IHS to study violin at the Curtis Institute during our senior year, but she returned to graduate with our class because she really wanted to do that. My cousin Dan had a big graduation party--I remember she was there.
Before she left, she was forever practicing violin. It was sometimes hard to get her to come to the phone for all the practicing. She was a member of the Johnstown Youth Symphony among other musical groups. She had a wicked wit and threw some wild birthday parties.

Yep, Nell she was hard to get to come out and play. Maria had a permanent hickey on her neck from practicing so much; I of course, teased her about it endlessly.
Maria Bachmann is an amazing, famous violinist. She is especially known for her interpretation of new music. Her new CD was recently featured in Strings magazine. She was principal violinist in our little Indiana community youth orchestra when I was in the back of the cello section behind Andy Johnson. Troy Perkins was also in that group...
