Keef!

Bone turned me onto The Stones and they've been a joyride ever since. Still like Charlie the best.

Comments:
I'm happy Keith is keeping it in the family. And what a family!

Here are a few classic quotes from or about the stones:

1971 Mick Jagger strutted , pranced and postured like an over sexed circus pony. Bill wyman wore his grave digger's smile. The Stones were in trenchant form and Jaggerwas supurb. He moved like a kingfisher and bellowed like a mule. Yorkshire Post

The Beatles wan to hold your hand , but the stones want to burn your town Tom Wolfe 1965

Bass goes in from your head and out through your fingers Bill Wyman 1969

Rock n roll is an adolescent medium, when you don't feel like an adolescent , you stop. I still feel like an adolescent three times a week, BBC mick jagger 1974

Yes it's hash. We do smoke. But not the cocaine, man. That is not my scene. I am not a junkie. Brian Jones 1967

This is the end of the line. Beyond the Stones, one simply cannot go and still maintain civilisation. Richard Christiansen Chicago daily news , 1965

Peter Fonda went looking for America. The stones found it. director Gimme shelter al maysles 1970

The trouble is that people expect too much from bands like us Keith Richards 1971

Mick Jagger should have distributed cyanide capsules to the audinence. Nothing , absolutely nothing could ever follow a show like that. New Musical express 1973

I can't go on pretending to be eighteen much longer. Mick 1981

If keith Richards didn't exist, rock n roll would have to invent him. chatelaine magizine 1983.

I came to bury them, but what do you do when the corpse kicks off the coffin lid and insists on dancing on the grave? Evening standard 1990

So pull ole grandad off the shelf and give him a try! No not the one in the bottle- try the one in the urn!!!

Metamorphosis is still one of my favorite albums. I think you told me about it and I found it in a cutout bin.

Saw them on tour last year, at of all places, Duke's football stadium. Charlie just ground out that famous beat with a bemused smile on his face the whole time. Probably couldn't wait to get back to his country estate, listen to his jazz records and breed his sheepdogs.

Bone, do you have some sort of "Stones" file, or what?! Amazing! So, who is your favorite Stone?

I always liked "Some Girls"--it being disco-ish and all.

What color shirt did you wear to Dukes Stadium Tim? Chapel Hill seems to be awash in Carolina Blue. Certainly no shortage of school spirit there!
