Stop by my porch Wednesday

Too bad green lasers are so freakin' expensive. I'd totally have one of these cranked up 27/7. With Floyd blasting out of the speakers....dude.

MY kind of town!

I nearly wrecked the car as I drove down main street in St. Clairsville, Ohio recently. A banner stretched across the road proclaiming an honorable day for soup! All soup lovers in Tabishland should try to pencil this date in on your calendar. St. Clairsville is just across the Ohio River from Wheeling, W. Va., so you can get some gambling time in at the casino there as well.

It is most unfortunate that I am already committed to a college fair in Dayton, Ohio that day. I was not contacted early enough to be the Soup Day Master of Ceremonies.

Every American town should have a day to honor soup. Ask not what you can do for soup, but ask what soup has done for your country. It should be a day of celebration and remembrance; a National Soup Day. Chowders and stews and broths of all types can be the main course on National Soup Day.

Oh, the mind reels at the possibilities…..

Homecoming

Well, a belated posting of Homecoming in Indiana. All in all, we were in town for less than 24 hours, but it was a good time.I think it's probably the first time I've seen the parade since 19 (oh, man) 77. It was a lot of fun. My son took my picture right there near the IAHS marching band, that's my idiot brother in the background making bunny ears. Very amusing.

Later in true small town style we unexpectedly ran into the Colemans.

I'm moving

I want my own damn blog.

A Tim Weiner Production?

I recall Tim and a few others dabbled in some film making around Graceton and Coral way back in the late 70s. I don't recall seeing the final edit. Could this YouTube trailer possibly be the long lost movie?

Fall Foliage Map

In case you, like me, are considering going "home" in the next few weeks. I think Indiana is right on the edge, and could be "near peak" but is, in fact, "patchy."

Oct. 26 is looking more and more likely, Nell.

Think of the surgical possibilities...

The Lord of the Peeps

It's a little disappointing that the "movie" is actually a bunch of stills, but you do have to admire people who dress up peeps marshmallows and put them in tiny sets to act out "The Lord of the Rings." I mean, that has to count for something.
